Observation Program
At Medco ER in Plano and Carrollton, we make it a priority to offer the quality and level of care that you and your family deserve. Sometimes patients require intensive short-term treatment but do not meet the criteria to be admitted to an inpatient hospital unit. In these cases, Medco ER has an available observation level of care. Observation patients receive intensive nursing care and have immediate access to a physician to ensure that the patient’s condition stabilizes so that they can either be discharged home or transferred to an inpatient facility for further acute care. Patients on observation status may require ongoing monitoring of vital signs, extensive diagnostic testing or consultation by a medical specialist. Observation stays are typically less than 24 hours.
At Medco ER, we value your comfort and work diligently to provide care that meets the highest medical standards.
Our observation program is designed with patient discharge in mind. Our goal is to have our patients happy, healthy, and on their way home as quickly as possible.
